The amount collected from the July 17th Kermes: $4,893!

Thanks to all who worked very hard on the Kermes and donated a lot of their resources.

Assumption Parish will be having another Kermes, this time in Kings Beach, on Sunday August 8th at 4:00 PM in the Church parking lot.

The Kermeses benefit our community's poor families in emergencies and dire situations.

Also, plan to attend the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Truckee.

I welcome you to Assumption Parish. Our church is located in Truckee, California. Our Parish also includes the mission church Our Lady of the Lake in Kings Beach. Our community is diverse in that it ministers to both English and Spanish speaking parishioners. It is also enriched by many visitors and second home owners.

It is our hope that this means of communication would be a source of information that will enable you to be more acquainted with the Parish, its mission and history. Our hope is that you will partake with us on the journey of faith whether you are a member or a pilgrim sharing the life of Christ with us.

May the Lord bless us abundantly and may Mary, the mother of God and faithful disciple, be our inspiration to do the will of God.

Religious Ed for 1st - 8th Graders

Religious education registration for 1st through 8th Graders is now open.

Our children should be enrolled for catechesis (religious education) every year between 1st and 8th grade, whether a child is receiving a sacrament in that year or not.

We are now taking "Late Registrations" until Oct. 14th and only if space is available. There is a $20 late fee. Registrations are held in Kings Beach Thursday and Sunday after mass and at the office on Wednesdays 9 AM - 6 PM in Truckee.

New Church to be Completed 2011

Assumption Parish is constructing a new Church and Parish facility in Truckee. This is a vision that we have embraced and look forward to make a reality. It is a project that will take an effort and sacrifice of many. Trusting in God’s providence we wish to offer to God and honor Him in this tangible way, so that the new church will be an expression and legacy of our faith.
