Dear Friends,
Welcome to our beautiful corner of the world! – to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Truckee, California, and Our Lady of the Lake Mission Church in Kings Beach, California. This is a very exciting time to be part of the parish as we continue to grow and bring inspired people together to respond to the ever-growing needs of our diverse community.
Our parish population comprises Anglos and Hispanics, with a vibrant mix of retired people, active working men and women, and young families. The parish is enriched also by the presence of many part-time residents and numerous visitors throughout the year.
Since the parish was established in 1869, countless men and women have labored in this part of the Lord’s vineyard. Today, we are grateful to almighty God and proud of where we are as a Church and excited about where we are headed. It was through the support and cooperation of the people from the past and present that the Church is where it is now. Your generosity and continued support will help shape the future of our parish and help pave our way into tomorrow.
May our good Lord continue to bless you and your family abundantly and may our Blessed Mother be your inspiration as you continue to do God’s will.

 Sincerely yours in Christ,
 Rev. Vincent R. Juan, JCL

 Mass Reopening on June 13 & 14!

During this time of global pandemic, we do our best to keep our parish office open for our employees, our needy brothers and sisters, and for the faithful who might need our assistance. Since all our Masses are suspended, we will lose the main source of our income that we use for our daily operational expenses, maintenance and utilities. We encourage all permanent and seasonal parishioners to please continue their financial support to the parish by continuing their weekend donation to the Parish as we go through these troubled times.

Please remain calm and rest assured that Fr. Vince will be keeping you and the protection of your family each time he celebrates the Mass. This situation will eventually pass, we just need to keep on praying and trusting in God.

FOR EMERGENCY: Please call the parish office and leave a brief message at Fr. Vince's voicemail directly or e-mail him at

The Governor of CA declared a statewide stay at home in order to combat the spread of Covid-19.

PLEASE STAY AT HOME: Take this opportunity to be with your family, communicate, listen to each other, and learn to pray together. Pray the rosary or go to myparishapp, or breviary for other prayers. Together let us all pray for an end to this virus very soon.

PRIVATE MASS DAILY: Since all public celebration of the Mass are suspended, including funerals, Fr. Vince will offer private Mass daily for you, your family, for the Mass intention of the day, those affected by the virus, and the needs of our country and the world.

CHURCH OFFICE: The Parish office will have a skeletal workforce to address important matters only. We are still awaiting directives from the Diocese if we will keep the Church door open for private prayers.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Only upon request. Call the office and leave a message on Fr. Vince's voicemail.

CONFESSIONS: Are on hold right now in light of the CA Statewide stay at home directive from the governor.

CHURCH ACTIVITIES & RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: All Church activities, ministries, and the Catechism program are suspended until further notice.

PRAY: Let us pray, hope, and not worry. The Lord is merciful and he will hear our prayers.

Praying for your safety and good health! Let us pray for each other and also help each other, especially our neighbor in need.

Please SHARE THIS MESSAGE to other families and parishioners, and stay tuned for other development concerning the Church.
