Concern for the Poor (CFP) offers numerous programs to help people in our community:
Emergency Financial Assistance Program
Once a month, alternating between Truckee and Kings Beach, CFP assists people in need, who can
apply and receive help on the same day
Food and Resource Support Center
A hot meal is served every Thursday; on Tuesday and Thursday clients can make use of showers, laundry facilities, phone, and computer.
Medical cost subsidy
CFP will reimburse medical costs equal to the discount offered to qualifying individuals by Placer County (for certain medical expenses or dental care). Nevada County residents can participate in the Placer County sponsored health screenings and basic medical/dental care. Contact Placer County Clinic at 530-546-1970.

Please make your check payable to “Assumption / Concern for the Poor” and memo your intention of where your donation should go. If no intention is written on the check, it will go to the Concern for the Poor general fund. Donations to Concern for the Poor or Food and Resource Support Center can be placed in the Sunday collection or in the boxes in the church vestibule.
