Attention Students

Bring your Mass agreement papers to class the week of Jan. 29 - Feb. 4 so that your teacher can check them. Including this weekend only 14 opportunities remain for you to meet your requirement of attending 30 Masses for the school year.

Attention Parents and Catechists

Mandatory meeting for all parents of children in Year 2 of First Holy Communion (the catechists of these classes are required to attend as well):
-- Go to ONE of the following:

Tues. Feb. 7 - Truckee - 6pm              English -- 7pm Spanish

Father Matt will present the foundations of the sacrament of Communion and its meaning for your family. If you do not attend one of these scheduled meetings you will need to write a three-page, typed, well researched essay on the fundamentals and meaning of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion and also the importance of parent’s role as the first educator and role model. If you cannot meet our requirement in either of these two ways, you must meet with Father Matt prior to the February meeting or your child will not get credit for this year.

Fr. Matt is leading The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation series featuring Jeff Cavins. This in-depth study of salvation history gives you a structure for understanding the events of the Old Testament and how they prefigure the full revelation by Jesus Christ. The format is reading, presentation on DVD by Jeff Cavins, and discussion led by Fr. Matt. We began September 25, but it is not too late to join! Call the office to register. Study materials are $40 per person.

Prayer Meetings

Bring peace into your life with prayer.

We have Prayer Meetings once a month in the Parish Meeting Center.  Please drop by for refreshments, fellowship & prayer - group prayer is a powerful thing! - “where there are two or more gathered in My name, there I AM in your midst” - Jesus… We follow the guidelines of other Catholic prayer groups. All are invited to attend any of the meetings whenever you choose to do so - no commitment necessary. For more information you may call the office at 587-3595.

Prayer is a gift of grace but it always presupposes a determined response on our part because those who pray “battle” against themselves, their surroundings, and especially the Tempter who does all he can to turn them away from prayer. The battle of prayer is inseparable from progress in the spiritual life. We pray as we live because we live as we pray. - 2725 The Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church
