Progress Report

January 2009
Dear Friends,
As we make a steady progress on our building project to build a new church facility on Alder Road I wish to bring you up on the latest information.
Since my last report of July 2008 we have made a significant progress in increasing the amount of funds raised in our Capital Campaign "Sharing our Faith - Building our Future". Now over $2,100,000.00 have been pledged and of that over $800,000.00 has been collected.
The Parish Building Committee working with the Ward-Young Architects firm and input from the Diocese of Sacramento has accomplished conceptual and schimatic designs that has been approved by the Diocese. These documents have been submitted to the Town of Truckee for its "preliminary review". After we receive the feedbacks on our project we will proceed with "formal submittal". The Parish Building Committee selected Q&D Construction of Sparks, NV to obtain pre-construction estimates for the project.
Depending on how the process unfolds with the approval it is projected that we could have ground breaking in summer of 2009 but more likely in 2010.
It has been a long process since we embarked on this project of construction on a new church facility for our Parish in Truckee. Much effort went into securing necessary financial resources to make this possible as well as planning for our new facility. It is my firm belief that this is our mission at this time of our Parish history to work diligently to accommodate the needs and to leave a legacy for the future generations of God's people.
I take this opportunity to thank all who have participated thus far in this wonderful undertaking and ask others to become part of our enterprise to build a "House of Prayer" through financial and prayerful support.
With God's Blessings,
Fr. Stanley

July 2008

Dear Friends,

It is with words of gratitude that I wish to bring you up to date on our building project to build a new church facility on Alder Drive.

It is only less than two years that I signed documents on behalf of the Parish to acquire the land donation (eight acres) from East West Partners Inc.  In July of 2007 the Parish conducted a feasibility study to undertake a Capital Campaign which we initiated in September 2007.  With the generosity of our many parishioners and friends and the hard work of our many volunteers, since the initiation of our Campaign “Sharing our Faith – Building our Future” we have raised over $1,900,000.00 of our starting goal of $2,000,000.00.

I have also established a Parish Building Committee to shepherd our project that at some point will become our new spiritual home. From the very beginning the members of this committee have been at work with our Architects Ward-Young to create a building that will accommodate our needs now and in the future and that will be beautiful and feasible. Since the beginning, the drawings were conceptual pending recommendations and approval of the diocese and there have been several revisions that I hope will be finalized in the near future. Once finalized, our committee can then present them to our parish community before we seek formal approval from the Town of Truckee and before construction will commence.

Our endeavors to initiate the construction of a new church and parish center has been a long process, but the generosity and good will of all involved gives me confidence that the work on which we embarked is the work of the Lord. My words of thanks and gratitude to all for what we have accomplished thus far and words of prayer for all that we are to do.

With God’s Blessings,

Fr. Stanley
